Teach 9-12 concert band, summer marching bands, pep bands, ninth grade band, jazz ensemble, mixed chorus, madrigal/jazz select choir, musical pit orchestra, and assist students in preparation for solo/ensemble festival and honor band/choir auditions and performances. In three years I have significantly raised the difficulty level of music studied, integrated the teaching of music theory, music history and music listening skills, while increasing the expectations for music performance skills. The band went from ratings of straight III's in 1996-97, to I's and II's in 1997-98. The student body's perception of the band has made a dramatic positive change as well. Band has grown from 34 to 57 members in three years. Three students from this band have been selected to the Colorado All-State Band each of the last two years.

Taught beginning band, seventh grade band, eighth grade band, combined seventh and eighth grade band, general music, and prepared students for solo/ensemble festivals. Markedly increased the musicianship levels of all students through attention to teaching music fundamentals while including a balance of high quality literature. Organized student/parent trips to university and professional performances.
